Insurance Information
Customer Qualification
Automate will qualify each driver to ensure they are
acceptable but for information purposes the general criteria is as follows:
Age Limits
Age 21-75 inclusive.
Occupations
The policy excludes use by persons engaged in or connected with the professional
sport, the theatre or entertainment industries.
Driving Licences
All
drivers must have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum period of
12 months.
There is a legal requirement which makes the person vetting the customer
responsible to inspect and record a current and valid full driving licence.
This procedure is an elementary requirement of your policy. Failure to do
so could lead to prosecution under the Road Traffic Act. Without this minimum
precaution cover will be prejudiced under the terms of your agreement with
your Motor Insurers. Equally, this should apply where the customer uses
their own insurance policy as this could also be prejudiced for similar
reasons.
Notwithstanding this, if the customer is in possession of a new style licence
(photo card) the Motor Insurers have agreed to accept a telephone call to
The Premium Service Line provided by DVLA in the event the customer fails
to produce the paper part of the new licence. In this instance the photo
card must be produced and a reference number obtained from DVLA. All old
style licences have to be produced in full.
In all instances it is your responsibility to ensure the customer and any
additional driver is entitled to drive the type of vehicle being supplied.
Driving History / Record
Drivers who present with an adverse record may still be included subject
to the following guidelines.
